Safety Instructions for Firearms

Jeff Cooper, one of the most recognized experts in self-defense and firearms use, established four fundamental rules for the safe and responsible use of firearms, known as the "Four Rules":

1. Safe Handling (Keep): Always consider your firearm as loaded and dangerous. Always assume that your firearm is loaded and capable of firing at any moment. Even if you know it is empty, handle it with the same care you would give to a loaded firearm.

2. Defensive Use (Bear): Use the firearm only to defend yourself if there is a serious threat to your life or safety, or to the life of someone else.

3. Readiness (Ready): Always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. This rule ensures that your finger will not accidentally engage the trigger before you are absolutely sure that shooting is necessary.

4. Prudent Use (Aware): Always be aware of your surroundings and the legal consequences of using your firearm.
